How is the film similar
The male in the film is Nev who is supposedly talking online to a young woman called Megan. They become friends and begin an online relationship just like Ethan and Hollie. In the film Nev tries to meet up with Megan who makes up various excuses to not meet up, just like Ethan.
How is it different
In Catfish, Megan turns out to be Angela her mother, when Nev finds out this he still keeps in contact with her and they become friends where as in our film the story isn't a happy ending as Ethan turns out to be a kidnapper.
