Idea for a radio advert

We have been talking about ideas for our radio advert. One of the main ideas we all agreed on was to include the typical voice of a radio advert/film advert.
We did research on who voices this famous 'advert voice' and found out he is called Don LaFontaine. He's voiced over 750,000 television spots and up to 5,000 movie trailers.

This gave us a base idea of how we wanted our radio trailer to be, and we wanted to stick with the 'typical' trailer voice.
In our radio trailer we decided to name to title of the film, name to actors and to have certain parts of the film dialogue in it. To decide this, we had to pick out which bits we thought would be most successful and agreed to have the scream at the end of the film as a basis to make it apparent our film is a thriller. Something else we also agreed on was that we would use the same music we've used throughout our film on our radio trailer to make sure they link together.

Voiceover for Town Centre Scene

One of our scenes was shot outside and we found the sound of Hollie was quiet and distorted due to the amount of wind on the day, so once we had edited our scene with the shots we wanted we decided to use a zoom recorder to record Hollies speech. We knew that this would be very difficult as once we had recorded the speech we needed to fit it to Hollies lip movement. Fortunately Megan had recorded her speech near enough exactly the same as she did when filming so we only had to chop and cut the sound a little.

How to make video look more like a film

Video looks different from film. Film looks a lot softer compared to video as film has a partly because the slower frame rate and the lack of interlacing. Both of these make movement on video look clearer and sort of strobe-like (less movement 'blur') than on film, and make them feel as though they are in 'real time' rather than looking like an actual film.

Film also looks softer because it has a much greater range of contrast and color. Video looks harsher (more contrasting and starker, more primary colors). In our film, we want a movie film-like effect rather than a video. There are certain effects you can use to achieve a more film look. These are the basic things you can do to solve this problem, not just on final cut express but on other editing software.

This video link shows you how to alter your movie to make it look more like a real film. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KelM0emjEKM
